Child Nutrition Services exists to provide excellent meal service to students through the foods we serve, the interactions we have, and the customer service we provide to families, students, and administrators. 

 

Del Mar Union School District continues to participate in the National School Lunch Program.  For students, this program provides nutritious meals that comply with the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.  For parents, the National School Lunch Program enhances students’ learning abilities by contributing to their physical and mental well-being.  Studies show that children whose nutritional needs are met have fewer attendance and disciplinary problems and are more attentive in class.

In Del Mar, we are firm believers that eating nutritious and healthy meals directly impacts students’ ability to learn and focus while in school.  We are dedicated to providing the best possible quality foods for our students while presenting them with many choices to expand their knowledge of healthy foods and healthy eating habits.  We advise all parents to view our district’s Wellness Policy (available in the quick links section of this page) and to encourage your students to participate in the School Lunch Program.
