Meet Mrs. Johnson
Speech Language Pathologist
As a Speech Language Pathologist I have the pleasure of working with a variety of students and their families. I serve students across all grade levels with a wide array of communication challenges. I help students with production of speech sounds, management of vocal pathologies and stuttering, as well as all aspects of language comprehension and expression. I take great pleasure in seeing children work through their speech and language challenges to become confident and accomplished communicators.

I have enjoyed working for Del Mar Union School District as a Speech Language Pathologist since 2000. I earned my Bachelors and Masters degrees from SDSU in Communicative Disorders. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech Language and Hearing Association as well as a license in Speech Pathology from the state of California.

Adaptive Physical Education
For those of you who don’t know me, I would like to introduce myself and share a little bit about my program and myself.  I have a degree in Sociology and a minor in coaching from UC Santa Barbara.   I obtained a degree in Physical Education and an Adapted P.E. Specialist Credential at Cal State Long Beach.  I taught Adapted P.E. for 9 years in Redondo Beach.  This will be my 13th year teaching APE for DMUSD.  My husband Scott and I have 6th grade twin girls, who attend school in Carlsbad.  I am so fortunate to work with such amazing staff and students at my various sites all these years!
My curriculum includes developmentally appropriate movement activities, games, and sports suited to the interests, strengths, and individual needs of each student.  We will begin each class with a warm-up routine, stretching, body awareness and movements to songs.  Some of the activities we’ll be working on throughout the school year include:  ball skills, catching, throwing, kicking, striking, jump ropes, balance activities, parachute, scooter boards, hula hoops, modified team sport activities, and IEP objectives.
